I bought this on sale mid Dec. after I tried a kinetic splitter and hated it. I had a small splitter and rented a big one every 2 years to split the tough pieces. I've rented most makes, including Splitfire but many of the rental places are no longer renting splitters due to the liability.
This 32 ton unit is THE BEST I have ever run. It's a full beam and built strong. Yes, the full stroke is a few seconds slower than a Splitfire but with this unit, you rarely use the full stroke. I normally run the engine at 60% throttle and only had to increase it once for a massive knot. Most of my splits are 20-24" because my stove takes 24". Most hardwood splits in the first 10" because the wedge is wider than most splitters, so it operates as fast as I need. Engine always starts in 2pulls.
Problems: full beam means the wheels are father apart so it's towable on the road but restricted to 45 mph. The wheels actually get in the way sometimes and I've got a bruise on my leg to prove it.
Great buy!!

Bought the Wood splitter for a Christmas gift for my fiancé. Putting the splitter together was fairly easy and it split some wood with these.
My fiancé is extremely happy with his present

**After one use**
Unit came in a crate and had to be assembled. Extremely heavy so make sure you have at least 3 or 4 people lifting or 2 with a dolly lying down. Assembly was easy (a second person helps in certain steps). Material seems very durable and heavy which I like. I used automatic transmission fluid as I’ll be running it in the cold weather, added synthetic 5w-30, gas and off I went. Started immediately without any issues. This thing is a beauty, it went through knots no problem. I’m extremely happy with it after one use and so is my back. When hooking the unit up to your hitch for first time, remove the screw that they put in the latch otherwise it won’t open up all the way and you won’t be able to fit it on your hitch. The only thing I noted during first use is that the oil filter slightly moves at the “outlet” side during use, but as long as you keep an eye on it you should be fine, you can move it back by hand.
