On Friday April 3, 2020 the Ontario Government issued Ontario Regulation 119/20 under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act. This regulation increased the restrictions to many retailers in Ontario. We remain committed to following all regulations and working closely with the Government in order to do our part to flatten the curve and helping keep Ontarian’s safe.

TSC Stores fall under Paragraph 26 of the Regulation as an Essential Business, and as such are to remain open. This decision is based on our interpretation of the Regulation and our discussions with the Retail Council of Canada and their communication with the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade.

“26. Businesses that support the food or agricultural products supply chains and the health and safety of food, animals and plants.”

While our stores remain open, we will be limiting the number of customers in our store at any given time, we are also limiting one person per family in-store and ask that you spend no more than 10 minutes shopping. To further reduce congestion and wait times we strongly encourage & recommend all customers order online & use curbside pickup when possible.

In March we put a pause on our printed flyer promotions to reduce in-store traffic due to promotional activities and we also committed to ensuring no price increases are being put through at this time. Please visit www.tscstores.com to read previous company statements as it relates to COVID-19.

To Our Valued Customers,

We are listening very carefully to the feedback from our customers, but most importantly the feedback from our retail employees who are our undeniable heroes- during the COVID-19 crisis. In an earlier statement we mentioned that we were maintaining our store hours in an effort to spread out customer foot traffic in our stores. Since then, we've requested that only customers with essential purchases should visit our stores.

Our staff have indicated they would like more safety precautions in place and we have responded by reducing the hours in which we are open to customers. We are listening and we support this request. Starting on Friday March 20th, 2020, our new shopping hours will be 10-5 daily, subject to employee availability. With these new store hours, we hope to be able to balance the needs of our customers for essential items while being sensitive to our staff's health & safety concern. We continue to request that only those customers with essential needs visit our stores.

We are also enhancing other options to help our staff and customers with their purchases including adding more products on our website- to reduce time spent in-store.

As we've mentioned, we are taking this day-by-day. We are doing our absolute best to service our customers' needs while ensuring our employees voices are being heard. Everyone's health and safety remain paramount.

To Our Valued Customers,

We want to let you know that effective immediately and until further notice, we are pausing our existing promotional flyer programs for our Peavey Mart, TSC Stores and Mainstreet Hardware banners. We want to assure you that we will remain open to serve our customers’ needs, including crucial products such as animal feed, animal medicine, and agriculture supplies. We are pausing promotional flyers to focus on programs that will provide our customers with everyday value during this challenging time.

This move will also help reduce the impact of increased customers in our stores due to promotional activities, as well as create less congestion for our employees and customers in our stores. As a reminder, we encourage our customers to shop earlier and later in the day. These are typically the least busy times to shop.

We want to point out that a flyer is already in distribution and we were unable to stop them from reaching doors across Canada. However, we have halted the next available flyer in production for the reasons noted above. The flyers currently in distribution include: Peavey Mart, March 19-29th & TSC Stores, March 20-26th.

We are also ensuring there will be no price increases on the products you need, or any products in our store during this period of uncertainty. Our customers rely on us to stay open, and we want you to know we are here to support you during this period of uncertainty.

Dear Customer,

There is a lot of uncertainty these days and with information that is changing by the hour, every day feels like a new week. COVID-19 has caused a lot of concern around safety and health, we wanted to take time to address this with you. Rest assured we are taking this situation seriously, and also taking it day- by- day.

Peavey Industries LP (Peavey Mart, TSC Stores, MainStreet Hardware) operates as a retailer that provides products and services deemed essential by many customers. Thousands of customers rely on us for the needs of their farm & livestock animals, animal safety products and animal feed. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we've seen a spike in customer response to animal feed, medicine and other products required on the farm, ranch or acreage. The agriculture industry doesn't stop, and animals don't stop requiring food and other important products. Many of our customers have asked us to ensure we increase animal feed stock, so we don't run out during this period of uncertainty.

We feel we have a duty to our customers, while at the same time ensuring our staff and customers are safe. We have an obligation to do so. We have increased safety parameters at our store through more frequent cleaning. This includes the cleaning of washrooms, shopping carts and baskets, high frequented areas of the store, the cash register area, the pin pads and more.

We absolutely need to ensure a safe working environment for our staff, so we've asked our customers to practise social distancing in our stores - and while that isn't the easiest thing to do when checking out your items, we strictly ask you follow posted guidelines. Customers are also asked to use credit or debit when shopping in our stores, so they can use the pin pads without our staff having to touch cash or change coins at this time. We are also maintaining the hours of our operations as we believe that lowers the frequency of higher traffic. We encourage our customers with needs to come in during the morning or evening non-peak periods to ensure less people in the store at any given time. This protects our customers and our staff.

At this time, our stores will remain open so our customers can buy essential products such as; animal food and feed, animal medicine, animal sanitary products, agriculture supplies, animal waterers, household cleaning supplies, heating pellets, pumps, electrical switches & more. It's also calf season, and many calves require colostrum, milk replacer and medicine to make it through the first crucial days of their lives.

We want to remind all customers if they are feeling unwell, to remain home as per provincial and federal recommendations. If you don't need a product, we invite you to wait until it's safer to do so. We thank you for your questions, concerns, comments and most of all your patience. We thank you for being a loyal customer, even if that means not shopping with us unless you have a need to do so.
